Adding Ambiance to Your Headshot

While it's always great to have a headshot with a simple background, adding in some architecture or details can really enhance an image. Shervin Eftekhari, President of Zander Insurance, was looking to get his headshot updated but wanted something that had more of an editorial/lifestyle feel. Finding a space that had some great textures and vignettes allowed us to capture a variety of images that were professional and without feeling stuffy or distracting.

The lighting for this shoot was simple and varied between natural light, a single strobe modified with an umbrella and diffusion fabric, and a second strobe modified with a strip box used as a backlight to provide separation from the background.
