Artfully Wed // nFocus Magazine
I’m so thrilled to share my latest shoot with nFocus Magazine for their January 2025 issue, Artfully Wed. This editorial is all about bridal fashion as wearable art, and every moment of this project was pure magic!
The Vision:
We shot at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts—a space that feels like it was designed for fashion photography. Fun fact: the building was designed by ESA Architects, the same incredible firm behind the Tempo Hotel! If you’ve been to the Tempo, you’ve probably seen my project Mary Louise, which graces the walls from floor to ceiling. There’s something special about working in spaces with such strong ties to creative expression, and this shoot was no exception.
The idea for this spread was to merge bold, contemporary bridal looks with the timeless elegance of the venue’s architecture. From modern suits dripping in sequins to ethereal gowns with sweeping trains, every frame feels like a work of art—and that’s exactly what we were aiming for!
How We Made the Magic Happen:
My goal for this shoot was to let the fashion and setting shine, so the lighting needed to be both dramatic and flattering. I used:
Profoto D2 for those precise, sculpted highlights.
Godox AD200 to keep the setups flexible and quick.
Godox SL150R to give some the scenes a cinematic, glowing vibe.
Photek Umbrellas to wrap the light around every detail of the fabrics.
With Kupo Stands anchoring everything and my Meta Raybans capturing some fun BTS moments
The Dream Team:
Behind every successful shoot is a team of absolute rockstars, and I had some of the best in the business by my side for this one:
Photography Assistant: Anthony Romano (BTS genius!)
Art Direction: Christie Passarello
Styling: Bruce Pittman Inc.—whose eye for detail brought this shoot to life.
Stylist Assistants: Elder Gorak and Linnea Tweedy
Hair and Makeup: Nichole Holloway-Smithson (MHD Beauty) and Helen Bush. Absolute perfection!
Florals: The Bloom House, Fiorella Nashville, Forget Me Not Designs, and Kenstick By Design—these arrangements were next-level gorgeous.
Models: Scarlett Butler and Lesie Contruti from AMAX Talent—what's a fashion shoot without great models.
The Designers & Brands That Stole the Show:
This shoot wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible designers who shared their work:
Gowns by Pamela Roland, Vera Wang, Olia Zavozina, Galia Lahav, SAINT Bridal Couture, Nicole + Felicia, and Anna Barge.
Jewelry from Margaret Ellis Jewelry, Jade Ruzzo, Joelle Kharrat, and For Future Reference brought the sparkle.
Shoes by Nina Berkley (DSW) and bouquets from The Bloom House, Fiorella Nashville, and Kenstick By Design rounded out the looks perfectly.
This project was one of those rare shoots where everything came together seamlessly—the architecture, the gowns, the lighting, and the energy of the team. Seeing it all unfold in the pages of nFocus Magazine is such a joy, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we created.
