Exclusive Behind the Scenes: The Making of the nFocus Fashion Editorial Featuring Designer Prabal Gurung
Ever wondered what goes into creating the dazzling fashion spreads you see in magazines? Dive into the whirlwind world of high fashion with us on the set of nFocus’s April issue, featuring the breathtaking Spring Collection by Prabal Gurung.
COVER GIRL ALERT! For lighting I added in my Profoto B10x teamed up with a Photek umbrella and Anthony Romano flexing his muscles to hold the umbrella overhead? Magic! It whispered light across the scene, luring out the sparkle in the eyes of our dazzling cover star. And not to be outdone, the Profoto D2 chimed in, bouncing off the walls to throw a spotlight party for the boxwoods.
Ever seen a dress turn into a butterfly? Anthony’s epic dress toss had the fabric sprouting wings under the watchful eyes of not one but two Profoto B10x’s. They, along with the Photek 41 and 60 Inch umbrella entourage and a backdrop serenaded by a Profoto D2 light, made shadow and light waltz together.
And, oh, the pink number! Trust me, it wasn’t just blushing on its own. The Profoto Duo was on double duty, splashing the background with extra sparkle to make sure our girl outshone the table décor.
We mixed things up a bit with a splash of floral flair. The Profoto B10x, tucked into the Photek umbrella, lit up the set like a soft, secret garden. On the flip side, the Profoto D2 played it cool, giving the background just enough zing to make those greens sing. There, lounging like a queen, our model rocked that sofa spotlight, outshining even the spring sun.
With a Profoto B10x lighting up the scene from the left and the savvy Profoto D2 adding depth from the right, we spun a visual story brimming with contrast and drama. The result? A photo that echoes the pinnacle of fashion's bold narrative.
Then we doubled down—two models, two Profoto B10xs, two umbrellas, and that powerful Profoto D2, all crafting a kaleidoscope of color and light. It was a visual fiesta where every twirl told a tale.
Talk about channeling your inner queen! The dress under our lighting ensemble shone like a crown jewel. We had the 60 inch Photek umbrella with a cascade of light from above via the Profoto D2 setting our queen apart from her leafy court.
Strut the catwalk of life with confidence! We had our model sashaying in gold sparkle and tulle, playing peek-a-boo with a pair of Profoto B10x’s and the D2 casting depth spells.
Queen of the Green! Here she is!! Lighting's the secret sauce – we've got a Photek umbrella waving its magic from above, sprinkling stardust with a little help from a sky-high Profoto B10x. And that D2… Sneaking up behind the green like a ray of sunshine, giving those boxwoods a subtle glow-up.
Just a chill queen lounging on the sofa, lit by a single Profoto B10x and her shadow-slinging sidekick, D2. She wasn’t just killing time; she was owning it, with every fiber of her patterned ensemble basking in a glow that screamed ‘effortless chic’.
Rounding it out by mixing shadows with a dash of drama, all lit by a single Profoto B10x shining through a Photek umbrella. It's like a soft spotlight just for her. The D2? It's bouncing off that white wall, giving us a lovely bright background that makes her pop right off those lush greens. It's not just about standing out; it's about owning the room with a whisper of light.
And that's a wrap on our behind-the-scenes magic show! With every detail dialed in and every beam of light bent to our will, we turned Prabal Gurung’s Spring Collection into more than images—it's an epic saga of style.
